I’m sorry you have a problem with your parents about the joining the band competition, I can understand hoe you feel, what your parents doing must be very dissapointing you. Why don’t you talk to your parents if you are very serious about joining the band competition, you may show some perform of your band to your parents, maybe they will trust you and give permission for you. I am sure you can do it because you are a smart and telented boy aren’t you ? you cannot give up so easily to persuade your parents. Good Luck !
