This novel lift story about life of children who live in island of Belitong during going through education in primary school of Muhammadiyah. At early novel, Andrea Hirata try to depict social reality that happened in original society over there, especially Malay community of Belitong which is contradictive with properties of their natural resources. Seems fill this story give impression touching liver how eleven children which nicknaming their self as this Laskar Pelangi have high motivation struggle to improve Malay society chance of Belitong which a long way off drop behind. Each of them battle with their way. The unique of each child studied specially by Andrea Hirata in every chapter in this novel. Besides, Andrea Hirata style impress erudite once with many science terms found every plot. But this matter does not lessen side of novel beauty. Also according to me exactly enrich knowledge think at the same time imagine in conceiving this fiction content. According to me, Andrea Hirata very smart in depicting life background one of community in island of Belitong and deservedly we earn to catch core of this story which will be submitted by this writer. It is true do not easy to narrate natural events by a moppet more than anything else our tender ages ahead which full of idealism to be made by a spirit trigger to past. Sometimes adult people think too pragmatic in assessing this life. Everyone can realize aspiration his childhood ahead which still on file in memory. Because of that’s, Andrea Hirata prove the mentioned in its novel “Laskar Pelangi” this. Therefore, I enough impress in reading this novel. I also suggest this novel very good read by education interest in Indonesia. So that next moment will pop out Laskar Pelangi generation giving change to our nation chance, Indonesia. Keep read!

My Hometown

Hi friends, i’d like to tell you about Padang, a capital of West Sumatra Province, my hometown. I visited it last year in my holiday. If i go to Padang, i always go to Bukit Tinggi. By hearing the name of Bukittinggi, peoples immediately reminded of the Jam Gadang and Ngarai Sianok. And there are a lot of things to see: Jam Gadang, Ngarai Sianok, Japan holes, Taman Bundo Kanduang zoo, above market and below market, Maninjau lake, etc.
Jam Gadang, is the landmark of Bukittinggi. There is a oddity that is at the peak of Jam Gadang. When ussualy writng include a symbol of a Roman numeral “IV” to symbolize the number four Roman, but Jam Gadang four roman numbers marked with the symbol “IIII” (usually IV). You also do not forget the time, because Jam Gadang will show time for you.
Second, i want to talk about Ngarai Sianok. It located in the middle of the city. Sianok a beautiful canyon with a long green valley about 15 km. Nature really is amazing! The ticket is not expensive enough, in Rp 2000 per person ,and that price includes the cost to visit Japan holes. Cheap enough don’t you think?

Leon is a boy with so many problems. Teachers do not like him and he is involved with gank’s battle. In his vision, life is unfair. His family abuse him and send him to Bandung, while his family live in Japan. Leon never had a real friend except Iris. Iris is a beautiful girl that live in Bandung, they met at flower shop where Iris worked. But suddenly, Iris died and leave Leon alone with nothing but pain. Two years after that, Leon meet with a girl. He never interesting with any girl (except Iris) before. But this girl is different, because Leon meet this girl with a really interesting conversition, this girl said she wants to suicide and Leon just cuckle at this statement. But the day after that, in his school’s toilet, Leon find the girl with a cut in her wrist. He saves her and they get close day by the day. The girl’s name is Spiza, and Leon find many similar things in Spiza that remind him to Iris. But he soon find, the reason of Spiza’s suicide incident is chain with Iris’ death. Who is Spiza? Why she always apologize to nothing?

I love this book because the change of Leon’s character from the beginning to the end is shown perfectly. ‘Dan Hujan pun Berhenti’ is a heart-warming and lovely story about teenager’s life. My favorite part in this book is when Leon realise, he is hurting himself and everybody around him when he distant himself and reject everyone.It make me happy, just like watching my own child get mature.

I recommend this book for the one who like drama and love story. Because the novel is full of drama and there are some light humor. I recommend this book for teenagers around 14 to 18.

Hei, friends! I’d like to tell you about my beloved hometown, Jambi. Jambi is a really peacefull city with so many hidden treasures. These treasures aren’t money or material, these are about cultures and beautiful nature places.

In Jambi, there are two places that’s so close but different. It is Jambi city and Seberang Jambi. These two places were divide by Batanghari river, usually people crossed the river by Auduri bridge but there are some people that still use our traditional transportation, ketek. Ketek is similar with gondola from Venezia but more simple. Something that make this unique transportation is the name of it. Ketek means lower part of arm in human body that stink like hell.

Maybe you would rarely found our traditional houses in Jambi city, but you could find it in Seberang Jambi easily. This traditional house is ‘rumah panggung’. Rumah pangggung is so similar with the long house or rumah panjang from dayak. Just like the long house, in rumah panggung there are more than 1 family lived there. But not as much as long house that is the house of 50 family, in rumah panggung there just around 15 family lived there.

And for Jambi’s original handycraft, there is Jambi’s batik. Batik in Jambi is different with batik in Java. In Jambi, we use many bright color like red, yellow and green. But in Java, people usually use dark color such as black, brown or dark blue. And for the corak (the background of batik) we use flower or animal.

And here, there’s Muaro Jambi temple. Muaro Jambi temple is built by Sriwijaya kingdom in the past. Muaro Jambi temple is exotic and cool. This place is quite and paecefull. There are 7 temples here and a unique pond called telaga hitam. From the history, telaga hitam was the place where the kings of Sriwajaya kingdom bathed.

Except Muaro Jambi temple, you could enjoy many beautiful places in the city. There are Batanghari river, Sipin lake or the new Batanghari 2 bridge. If you visit Jambi, you would greet by Jambi’s traditional dance, Si kapur sirih. And maybe you want to taste our traditional food? Such as tempoyak? You must definitely come here! It’s taste incredible!

i like this story because it has a lot of excitement, page turning, suspense. So you never want to put the book down.

i recommend this story to 12-16 years old. this book have many heiral work. ( dak jlas tulisan kau)

first i want to tell you about cidomo the traditional transportation in there

Cidomo is horse – drawn carriage. this vehicle has a hooded carriage with two long seat that face each other. four passengers sit behind the driver and one can sit next the driver. A cidomo has two wheel and pulled by a horse

next the place in building is prambanan temple. Prambanan has 100 temple in one area. but now some building has destroyer with earthquake this building have legend.

Everything and everyone seemed so normal.Except for Helen. She didn’t know what it was, but she could tell that something was definitely wrong inside of her. When she look a father was playing with his lettle girl,laughing all the time. They both looked so happy,a genuine joyful expression on their faces, which told of how much they were enjoying themselves. She was suddenly reminded of her father. She remembered the way he used to carry me as little girl, how he would ease her cries when she was hurt,and how he would lose his tempo.
I like this story because it has a lot of excitement, heart-warming, so you never want to put the book down ! This story is good for reading over and over !! After i read it, i know my father was not perfect. thats for sure.But Somehow, deep down inside, he always knew that he would always be for me and for everyone else in the family. Dad would listen to my reason ,but somehow, in the end, managed to make me see his point.

I recommend this story to people who like shy and not want recognize they father !! i would recommend this story for all age !!

hi guys, my name is asa shafira. i’m in et-11 at lia jambi.. i’m glad to tell u about art, especially about drawing..

actually, i don’t really like drawing. maybe it’s because since i were at elementary school, i don’t like art.. but now, i like it a bit…

when i want to draw something, i use the tommy thomdean idea. i get the idea from reading books, strooling around, chatting, listen to music or even watch tv. i agree with that, it makes me get the idea to draw faster than i have to thing about it my own. but i’m not agree when tommy said that comic is better than cartoon, because for me, cartoon and comic in same but diffrent. it depends on the reader. just like me, i like comic and also cartoon, it usefull for refreshing.. hahaha.

maybe just that from me, i hope you guys enjoy it. keep smiling, coz smiling is good. thank you for read my article..

Dear students,

I am very glad to see our blog has become more active than before. I have read all of your posts. They are very good and I am very proud of you. Hopefully you are also proud of yourselves that you have tried your best to write.

I am looking forward to seeing you send more and more articles in the future. Eventhough I am not (practically) in charge of this blog anymore, I will be very happy to help you in anyway I can. I believe you class teachers will be very happy too.

I have some suggestions for you. Hopefully you can improve your writings in the future. :

1. Please write all of your writings in English, including the title. If you have problems with the English , you can onsult it with your class teacher.
